Hello,
My name is Jose and I use photography to bring internal worlds, fantasies and ideas to life. I purposely craft images that stay true to the essence of the people and moments.
I take massive inspiration from Philippines, where I was born and lived until I was 11 years old. I emulate the feel of photographs that I grew up looking at back in Manila in the 90’s. In the majority of my work I often use the tones and hues of my childhood spent in a tropical country.
My background in dance influences the way I capture movement. Utilising my deep understanding of body language to encapsulate motion in a unique and authentic way.
Celebrating queer joy and expression is a pivotal part of my work.
I believe in the power that still imagery holds. The way it can perfectly or imperfectly seize moments that are otherwise fleeting. Stimulating imagination and provoking emotions. A tool used to tell many stories.
